Seth gave me a ticket to ride the Gmail train. I have been on board and must say that I have been enjoying the ride.

When I first got the account, I thought “Great! Now what do I do with it?” I already have an account for work, and account for this site, a hotmail account, an AOL account (since 1997), a Yahoo! account that I am sure is by now inactive, as well as a few others I think I have, but can’t really remember the passwords for. What do I need a new account for? I have redirected my contact for and comments notification to the Gmail account since they get caught up by the Spam Assassin filter on this server about half the time. I have also switched over some of my forum accounts at various sites to the gmail account. I had even at one point thought of just posting it here on the site, unprotected and un-enkoded to see how long it would take the spambots to find it.

E-mail is slowly trickling into the account and I have enjoyed the interface, the “conversations”, and especially the shortcuts. I really like the keyboard shortcuts.

All that said, I had 6 invites to give out at my discretion. I first pitched them to a few close friends. Then went around to some of my co-workers. Now, I am offering them to the public. I have 2 invites left to give away. No strings attached. No secret treasure hunts. If you want one, just post in the comments of this thread and I will get in touch with you.

If you happen to miss out, worry not. I am sure there will be more invites coming down the pipe in the near future.

Update: One down, one to go. Enjoy Robert

I don’t want another invite, I just want to agree that the Gmail interface is awesome. They really did a nice job overall with the site.

So, how long does it usually take until you receive invites in your inbox? Not that I need one (I’ve already been invited) – I have friends who are waiting for me to invite them. :-)

Sage - I got my invites after about a week of having my account. I think they just release them as they make room to accept more accounts, so don’t hold me to that “week” time frame.

Hey, It’s my first time posting here, though I’ve been visiting the site on a daily basis for about half a year… oh, and I sure wouldn’t mind a gmail invite. :)

Hmmm, looks like I might be one comment to late. But if not, I’m sure I could find a use for a gmail invite.
