More on Hurricane Ivan
I found this video showing the damage to the historic Flora-Bama lounge. Thought to be lost to Hurricane Ivan after surviving many hurricanes in its 40 years, it appears to have suffered some damage but is not lost. I am not sure how much longer the video will be available.

Here is a link to the photo galleries on al.com that show the photos of the damage taken by the Mobile Register.
Also, my mom sent me this link of about 500 pictures taken of the damage in Pensacola.
In addition to the damage on the coast, my home town of Meridian, MS was hit pretty hard as well. No one there was really expecting it either. There were lots of downed trees and I have heard of upwards of 35,000 people without power. My parent’s were without power for over 24 hours.
I am still getting a good bit of traffic from people searching for images and information, and even get some e-mails asking about specific areas and locations on the Gulf Coast. Hope these links help.

My heart goes out to the residents of Orange Beach where a few of my teacher friends and I vacation each year. We love the area and hope and pray that it bounces back better than ever. I would like to know the condition of St. Thomas by the Sea. God bless all of you.
