Beginning a marketing campaign soon to promote Birmingham as a technology center.
Vulcan Park Public WiFi hot-spot. Went through about 3 different ideas of antenna placement before deciding on final location. They have seperate antennas for the office and conference center that is on a seperate VLAN channel than the publicly accessible wireless. They will soon have a small snack shop to serve coffee and snacks to people using WiFi.
Birmingham International Airport is also offering WiFi for $2 an hour.
The IPSA/Tech Birmingham WiFi list has grown to about 60 or 65 hot spots.
