al.com Offering RSS For Weblogs (Finally)

al.com is essentially the most popular website in Alabama. It hosts content from the states “big three” newspapers: The Birmingham News, The Mobile Register, and the Huntsville Times.

In addition to that, it has an extremely active forum area, special technology and entertainment sections, and weblogs.

They have weblogs written by Birmingham News staff covering breaking news, they have an entertainment and nightlife blog written by Matt Cuthbert, as well as sports blogs covering the Alabama and Auburn programs.

They have just added RSS feeds for all of the blogs. Although they are only summary feeds (and short ones at that), at least it is a start.

C’mon guys. Throw some full text feeds our way.

Another problem I have with the feeds is that when you do go to view the post on the actual blog, you aren’t taken directly to the feed you wanted to read. Instead, you are dumped at the top of the blog and have to scroll down to find what you were reading.

If you aren’t going to offer full text RSS feeds, then don’t force me to hunt for the story I was reading once I click through from the feed.
