A Brief Respite
Things are still really busy at work. We have a few sites that are getting ready to go out the door with more waiting in line. We also have a few clients that are about to launch blogs on their sites, so that is exciting as well.
We are also doing lots of new stuff internally, like converting our process documentation from Word and Excel files to a Wiki for easier editing, collaboration and overall use.
Last Friday, Greg Rewis of Macromedia was in town to talk about Studio 8. IPSA organized the program, and I had a pretty big role in that organization. It was worth it because we had a great turnout and got to see a lot of the great new features in Studio 8.
After the meeting was over, I was completely wiped out and ready for a break, and that is exactly what I am getting. My wife has a fall break next week, so we are going to spend this weekend and part of next week in East Tennessee. We seem to go up there a lot (at least twice a year), but it is a relatively short drive (4 hours to the National Park from our house - not counting the time change) and my parents have a time-share there, so it is convenient as well as cheap.
So aside from being busy as all get out, I have also been tinkering with my wordpress.com blog, jeremyflint.wordpress.com. I really like the interface of the admin panel and hope most, if not all, of the features make it into the next version of WordPress. I am working on a more in-depth review and hope to have it ready to go soon as well.
On a parting note, if you have a chance to see The Lion King broadway production, do it. It has been here in Birmingham for the last month or so, and we went to see it this past weekend and it was great. The costumes and set were well done, the music was great as well…just an overall great show.
