Booq Vyper XL

I have had my 17″ Powerbook for about a year and a half now. I love it. It is easily the best laptop I have ever had. I have been just carrying it around in an old LL Bean backpack, relying on the padding of the pack to protect my laptop, and for the most part, it has done a great job.
I was wanting some sort of sleeve that I would protect my Powerbook, but also be slim enough to just slide into any backpack. I have seen sleeves that come with all kinds of pockets on the side and straps for carrying it, but I never could find what I wanted.
Then I found the Booq Vyper XL. I ordered one as a Christmas present a few weeks ago and it finally arrived the other day. After just a week or so of using it, I am able to say that it was definitely a worthy buy. It is rigid on the outside, protecting the Powerbook from anything that may get stacked on top of it. On the inside, it uses a soft, non-scratching material to help keep my laptop looking nice and shiny.
The one major thing that really sold me on this sleeve is the fit. It hugs the Powerbook tight, and doesn’t allow it to slide around inside the sleeve at all. The zippers also wrap all the way around, so it is perfect for unzipping, flipping the sleeve open and using the laptop while it is still in the sleeve, or just unzipping the top and sliding it out, leaving the sleeve in your pack.
If you are looking for a good, minimal sleeve for your laptop (Powerbook or otherwise), check out Booq’s line of Vyper sleeves. They also have the PowerSleeve, which includes straps and handles for toting your laptop on your back.
