Refreshing

I am in the process of making some improvements to the site. I am still going to stick with the single column layout, but have started tweaking out various parts of the site. The first to get the update was the footer. I have organized it into two columns, with a “recently posted” list, archive link, and search form in the first column, and some meta information in the second column, including a link to Cafepress where one can buy Red Hot t-shirts featuring the sign that has graced this site for two and a half years.

Other improvements I will be making will be some small updates to the banner image at the top, and some general font and spacing improvements for the content.

The biggest change I will be making at some point will be a reorganization of my posts into a slimmed down category list. Along with that, I want to start running a tag plugin that will let me tag my posts without having to add a new category.

Does anyone have any suggestions on which Wordpress Plugin for tagging that works the best? Is there one that you prefer over the other?

    Jeremy,

The Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin works great for tagging. It isn’t just plug and play, but most good plugins aren’t. I use UTW on my site, so you can see it in action there. I also just posted a list of all the plugins I use, if you’re interested.

Thanks. I was leaning towards UTW but had not had the time to really look at it.

Great list of plugins on your site.

Tweaks look good so far. I’m in the process of refining my site as well… Don’t know when I’ll finish, but starting’s a big step for me. (I never have time to work on my own site anymore.)

For tagging articles, I use TechnoTag (http://www.gudlyf.com/archives/2005/01/14/wordpress-plugin-technotag/)

It lets you add techorati tags to your articles by using wordpress metadata. Pretty easy to use imho.
