Google Maps Adds Saved Locations Feature

Looks like the Google Map team launched a “Saved Locations” feature. This will save the location you searched for (automatically by default) and let you easily reference it using labels. For instance, I have searched for the address of my office in downtown Birmingham. The location was saved, and I labeled it “Work”.

In addition to Saved Locations, Google Complete is now enabled on the search field. So if I type in “W”, it gives me the option of selecting my office address from my Saved Locations since it has the label “Work”.

Pretty nifty. Most of the other map services have had it for some time now. The only complaint I have is that if you have a default location set on your google map (mine is Birmingham), and then just search for an address without including the city/state/zip, it doesn’t save that location. Maybe that feature will be added soon.
