Google Analytics Open
When Google first launched its Analytics product, people swarmed to get in to the program. So much so that within hours of the announcement, the site was all but shutdown by the traffic. To easy the growing pains that would be brought on by all the traffic of sites using Analytics for stat tracking, the Google Analytics team switched to an invite-only system.
For a while, they rarely gave out these invites. A few months ago, they started sending them out on a regular basis - a sure sign that they were getting ready to open up Analytics to everyone. Well, that time has come.
The Google Analytics Blog announced yesterday that they have removed the wait to receive an account and that Analytics is now open to the public. All you need to do now in order to obtain an account is visit google.com/analytics and sign up or, if you have an AdWords account, click the “Analytics” tab within the AdWords administration area.

Also of note is the fact that they recently increased the number of profiles (tracked URLS) you could have have from 5 to 10. It’d be nice if they’d offer a pay version at some point that would allow for expanded use of gAnalytics… but I’m sure that’ll come soon enough.
