Birmingham to Texas Map

We are back in Birmingham after our great Memorial Day trek across 3 and a half states to Houston and back. My wife’s cousin was graduating from HSPVA and we drove out for the ceremony and to spend some time with family.

The entire trip rang it at just over 1650 miles after you add up the Interstate/Highway miles and the around-town miles. We stopped on the way out and the way back at our friends Trey and April’s in Jackson, as well as Meridian to see the parents and grandparents on our way back.

Houston was fun. It rained at least part of every day we were out there, but we still had a good time. We were supposed to drive up to Austin on Sunday and spend Monday there. We cancelled that leg of the trip at the last minute because we just couldn’t bear the 12+ hour drive back to Birmingham in a single day.

We have two words for Texas - Sweet Tea. We were in withdrawal by the time we were finally able to get some in Shreveport on Monday.
