Netscape Navigator 9
Netscape has released a new version of their Navigator web browser. This version brings the Firefox 2.0 engine into the Netscape wrapper. This also marks the first Netscape Browser for the Mac since Netscape 7.2 was released.
This browser appears to be more of a promotional tool for Netscapes new Digg-like social news site. One of its main features is a “share” icon in the address bar that, when clicked, automatically submits whatever site you are on to the Netscape news site.
It also includes a “Mini Browser” in the sidebar, which lets you open two sites side by side. I could see this as a useful tool for comparing sites side by side. Other sidebar tools are the Netscape Friends Activity and Link Pad, which is essentially another way of keeping bookmarks.
All in all, its nice to have a new version of netscape for the Mac, but I doubt it will become my new default.

More useful to me was the Netscape 9 theme released for Firefox 2.
Why? Merely because the buttons are a bit more compact, the bookmark bar becomes a bit more sharp, and the “STOP” button hides itself when a page is not loading.
