WordCampBirmingham Update

WordCampBirmingham is only a few days away and a lot has happened in the past week or so. For starters, we have secured an awesome venue. We will be meeting on Saturday in the Martha Moore Sykes Studio at Virginia Samford Theatre. In addition to a great rental rate from VST, the Internet Professionals Society of Alabama (IPSA) is helping out with a venue sponsorship to help cover costs.

We will kick things off around 8am with registration and the sessions will get started around 9. Microsoft has stepped up to sponsor lunch for Saturday. We will all enjoy some great BBQ from Full Moon courtesy of our friends in Redmond.

If you haven’t registered yet, make sure you go ahead and do so. It is only $25 to attend and space is limited. If there are open slots, we will take walk-up registrations Saturday morning.

I am very much looking forward to this. I just got my hotel reservations yesterday and can’t wait to see everybody.

I am not incredibly familiar with the facility (as well as Birmingham in general), but I had a question. Is there parking for this venue, or is it street parking? My Hotel is a little far away to walk so I wanted to make sure I am good on that front.

Look forward to meeting you, see you Saturday.
