I have been in the Newsvine beta since last fall and have slowly started using it more and really like it. It is pretty much my primary source for online news along with Digg. One of the things I have been unsatisfied with is their limited regions where you can post news from. It included the major metro areas like Atlanta, Chicago, New York, etc., but there was no way to add my region, Birmingham.
Last night sometime they pushed this feature out the door and you can now customize your regions. This also allows you to seed news to the Newsvine regional page, so now anytime I post something about Birmingham, I can select that region and it goes into the Birmingham Newsvine. Up until now, that was just a page with AP news on it.
I have some Newsvine invites and will give one way to the first 5 people to comment. After those have been given away, I will turn comments off.
